SERVICES CAROUSEL HERE

What therapy with me is like

Therapy with me is a collaborative journey where we make space for all your emotions, inner parts, and life experiences. I believe therapy is a space to explore and learn. You're the expert on your life and I'm here to team up with you, not diagnose you from a stuffy armchair.

As a somatic therapist and a systems thinker, I'm curious about everything: what you're feeling, what's happening in your relationships, your family history, and the world around you. All of it shapes the present-moment struggles, and is helpful on the therapeutic journey.

Whatever you bring in, you'll be met with kindness. I believe in creating a brave space for clients to share the vulnerable, confusing, shameful, and scary parts of themselves they don't talk about with others. Very little surprises me because I know that our inner parts are just looking to be listened to and treated with dignity.

How do you know when it's time to start therapy?

It's different for everyone, but here are a few ways to tell. Some folks are facing an acute challenging situation, while others have been dealing with something ongoing like anxiety or relationship communication issues.

Others are curious about themselves and ready to look a little deeper into making some life changes. You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need to know for sure before reaching out. If you're on the fence, that's usually a sign it's worth a consultation.

What to Expect

The first session is an exploration. Before we start changing anything, I want to genuinely understand your life, your relationships, your history, what's been hard, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. Think of it less like an intake form and more like a first real conversation.

For couples and relationships, I typically start with a joint session, then meet with each person individually before coming back together. This gives everyone space to speak freely and gives me a clearer picture of the whole system.

From there, therapy unfolds at your pace. You're always the one guiding how deep we go and how fast. My job is to stay attuned to where you are and meet you there. Some people come in with a specific issue and resolve it in a handful of sessions. Others find that one thread leads to another and the work becomes something more profound. Both are completely fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we accept a range of insurance plans through Connection Therapy Center. The best way to confirm your specific coverage is to reach out to their scheduling team when you book. They'll be able to tell you exactly what's covered.

  • Sessions are $60, whether you're coming in as an individual or as a couple or relationship group. That rate reflects the intern pricing at Connection Therapy Center, where all sessions are conducted under clinical supervision.

  • Honestly it depends on what you're bringing in and what you're hoping for. Some people come in with a specific issue and feel resolved in eight to twelve sessions. Others find that they really like having a therapist in their back pocket who helps them grow over time for months or years. There's no right answer and no pressure either way. We'll figure it out together as we go.

  • Yes. I offer online therapy Washington state residents can access from anywhere, as well as in-person sessions at Connection Therapy Center in Fremont, Seattle. Whichever format works best for you.

  • As a therapy intern, I'm completing my graduate training in Couples and Family Therapy at Antioch University Seattle. I'm fully supervised, meaning my clinical work is regularly reviewed by a licensed therapist. Intern therapy is not a lesser version of therapy. Many people actually prefer working with someone who is actively in training and bringing fresh frameworks and close supervision to every case. The main practical difference is the rate, which is significantly lower than a licensed therapist's fees.

  • My core frameworks are Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also draw on Gottman research, mindfulness techniques, attachment theory, play therapy, narrative therapy, and The Work of Byron Katie. In practice that means sessions can involve body-based emotional access techniques, parts work, and creative exercises like drawing or movement. But ultimately what you'll experience is just a lot of curiosity about what's actually going on and a collaborative field in which to explore it.

  • Relationship struggles of all kinds, non-monogamy and CNM, queer and trans identity, sex and intimacy, kink, neurodivergence, OCD, spirituality, anxiety, life transitions, family dynamics, and attachment patterns. If you're not sure whether your situation fits, reach out and we'll figure it out together.

  • You can book directly through Connection Therapy Center. If you'd like to get a feel for things first, I also offer a free 15-minute consultation before your first session. Either way, their scheduling team will help you get set up.

  • Yes. If you'd like to meet briefly before committing to a full session, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. It's a chance to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and figure out whether we're a good fit. No pressure either way.

  • I make sure to check in with clients regularly along the course of therapy. If something isn't clicking we'll talk about it directly. Therapy is a relationship, and like any relationship it works best when both people can be honest about what's happening. If after an honest conversation we determine that a different therapist or modality would serve you better, I'll help you find a referral.
